With over 25 years of experience, we offer wax removal by microsuction, irrigation (syringing) and instrumentation in our clinic in Bawtry. We also offer home visits to people who are unable to get to the clinic, and who live in the Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley areas.
We are also an ear care training organisation and provide Ear Care Skills UK training for nurses, audiologists and pharmacists.

We are very proud to announce we are the first nurse-led private ear care clinic in the Doncaster and surrounding areas to be registered with the Care Quality Commission.

Hearing loss is common and affects as many as 12 million people in the UK. Wax build-up can exacerbate the problem, and hearing aid users particularly may find wax distorts the sound.
Most of the time, ears are self-cleaning and wax makes its own way out of the ear. However, sometimes if wax becomes excessive or troublesome it may need to be removed.
Some people find that wax build-up may cause their ears to become itchy. It is important not to scratch your ears or poke them with cotton buds as this may make the problem worse.

A thorough consultation is carried out at every appointment. Although we always examine both ears, often people will just have one blocked ear - we only carry out necessary treatments.

Instrumentation is a method of removing wax using an instrument. This may be appropriate if the wax is at the outside of the ear canal. The clinician will ensure they have direct vision into the ear canal by using a headlight, loupe glasses or a microscope.
Yes, home visits can be arranged - costs start at £75, dependent on location.
Ear syringing used to be carried out with a metal syringe, now the process of removing wax with water is carried out with an electronic irrigator, which has a controlled pressure and is referred to as ear irrigation.
Wax is a natural substance found in the outer ear. Wax is important because it protects the ear in several ways; it acts as a barrier, is bactericidal and is a lubricant.
Occasionally, ear wax may be too hard to remove at the first visit. If this is the case, the patient will be asked to instill more olive oil and another consultation will be arranged at no extra cost.
